We left for the cabin Thursday night, 4-19. I arrived home earlier than Ron and packed the car with doggie beds and coolers and then decided to walk the girls around the block. We had a long drive ahead of us! Gracie always meanders, Jackie always leash pulls, but this day something was different. I had been noticing that Gracie just "wasn't herself" and had planned on a complete doctor check-up when we returned from our weekend at the cabin. We made it, the girls and I, about 1/2 way around the block when Gracie sat, and then laid on her tummy, shaking and trembling, she just couldn't go any farther. I ran Jackie home and returned for Gracie, still laying in the exact same spot, and carried her home.
Needless to say, there was an emergency run to the Vet on our way out of town. I described her tremors and apparent dizziness and at a glance all our Vet could see was tooth troubles. Gracie has 2 teeth that need to be pulled and the theory, her tremors could be caused by pain. So we put her on a strong pain medication and hoped we would see overnight improvement. Off to paradise!
We pulled into Paradise Friday morning! Our goal this short trip was to put up what insulation we had and install our NEW PROPANE WALL HEATER! Yea! We had also brought with us, a genuine BED! Our trials with the hole in the air mattress and awaking to 40 degree temps in the morning had made us wiser and we came loaded for bear!

| Wonderful! Beautiful! Blue Flame Fire! Heat! Amazing! |
| Insulation waiting to be installed! Where to start! |
| Yes! A bed...Mattress..covers...rug to keep out the drafts from below! |
| Kitchen cabinets from Fruitwood Lane, re-purposed! |
| Of course, not surprisingly, we were not given the appropriate amount of insulation. Or could it still be at Home Depot waiting for us to come get it? It is a mystery. |
| A herd of deer. Jackie attempted to chase one, Gracie as well, but when Gracie fell, not once but twice, the chase was off and heavy hearts set in. |
| A Glorious early morning sunrise! |
| Our precious little one stayed in her special place most of the time. The pain medication did not help, the dizziness and falling down spells on the increase. Grandma's heart breaking and mind not in the building mode. Good thing we only had planned a small amount of work this trip. |
Recap of the weekend for those of you who can appreciate this:
Bob arrived Friday before we even had the trailer unloaded! We had decided to take a walk-about with the girls before starting work and when Gracie fell after maneuvering the hillside by the cabin, I just sat with her, Ron and Jackie a bit further down the driveway. So we were not in a very welcoming mode when he arrived. He stayed just long enough to let us know he, too, was in the process of moving in for the summer. NOTE TO SELVES - we will park the Yukon where it is not noticed from the road below!
Saturday when the rain moved in, we were so happy to have our work area, covered and warm! Let the rains come! However, neighbor Steve arrived and work stopped while the two Boys chatted away the entire rain storm. I sat with Jackie on my lap, she not being pleased with the fact that Steve was in HER space. An hour and a half later, the rain was gone, our neighbor as well, and work could resume.
Not one "walk-about" occurred this trip. Our little Gracie was in misery. I was baffled and heart sick. But we did manage to complete all that was on our to-do list. Well, Except for the last "to-do" - you know the one - arrive at cabin - stay at cabin, never returning to Pocatello. That one thing. :-)
