We broke tradition this year.
Usually, we look forward to the Fourth of July. We get up early and pack a lunch and load it in the MG and we go to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. We watch the parade around their town square and buy clove candies at the candy store. We set up our blanket and chairs in the field by the school and we people watch while we wait for the free concert to start. One year, we even stayed for the fireworks show after the concert. But this year our hearts were not so festive.......
Seeing a parade was not high priority,
A picnic on a blanket? another day, perhaps,
A trip to the candy store, not so important.....
But...........
We did spend a few hours with wonderful friends
And,
We did watch the
City Fireworks display from their back deck,
And
We did celebrate with
other Fire Survivors that even with the destruction, no Human Lives were
lost.
And so as I type this Post, I will celebrate that my happy, healthy granddoghters are by my side,
And
I will celebrate this Fourth with Memories of Past July 4ths and look forward to future ones!
