In the last few days we have completed the basement bar area: We changed out the old tiles for granite ones and replaced the sink and faucet. The top picture is the old tile.....in case you can't tell! :-)

The sink is larger and deeper and has a spray head. Great for when I can get back into my stained glass, IF I ever do.

Ron would like to point out that our walls are not, in fact, pink. But for some reason they appear to be. Maybe we need to take a more objective look at them?? A Paint job may be put on the "to do" list.
We continue to prepare for our "barn raising".
Last weekend we had planned a trip to Cascade to do some exact measuring and also to go into the Great Falls City Offices and find out what was needed to start with our construction. The weather did not allow us to do so! Ron was able to do most of the permit stage on the telephone. It seems we do not need building permits but are required to have an address for emergency purposes. When Ron contacted the man who assigns addresses, we were told that two other requests had recently come into him in "our" valley and so it was now worth his time to go out there and assign our address. Two others!! Good Grief! We were wanting to get away from so many people and over crowding!!! Hopefully we should have a "legal" address before the week is out!
We are hoping Home Depot will be able to custom build our trusses and floor things. (I know there is a technical term but it is alluding me at the moment).

These things!
We will venture into our local HD and maybe we can get everything ordered here but constructed in Great Falls.
I am starting to plan meals to be cooked on a camp stove or dutch oven and stored in coolers. 2 weeks worth, I texted Cindy and asked her if maybe she wouldn't mind helping me figure out meals and she seemed actually thrilled! Said I had unleashed a cooking monster! (cookie monster?!) I breathed a HUGE sigh of relief! Yea for Big Sisters!
So there is where we stand right now. I must end this endless chatter. I am laying out the cabin tonight and determining where we want to put doors and windows. I also have a huge pot of a possibility on the stove. If it passes Ron's judgement, I will forward the recipe onto Cindy for her approval. 6 weeks - countdown....so much to do, so little time!
