We spent a long weekend at the land. Loaded up the girls and off we went. Our plans are to start improvements on the foundation this summer. We need to determine where to place a road up to the foundation. Last time we were there we met a neighbor who lives a few acres over. He and his wife live in the "valley" year 'round. He has offered his services and those of his backhoe, for a price, of course, to put in this road. And we think we will take him up on it.

So we spent a very wonderful weekend away from it all. We also tried to find the two survey markers that have eluded us thus far. No luck. Maybe this summer we will find them.

We happened upon the site of our water source. The hoses are already in place, we will need to get a gravity water tank. We had planned to run water thru the hoses to verify that they still worked but you know how those best laid plans go! We have verified that there is septic already installed and now will have to search for those tanks as well!
Days spent on the land are fun and exhausting! We put Megan in the car,( she is not able to do much more than road sauntering), when we went on the search for the corner posts. Gracie was so tired and sore after our walk-about she couldn't move! Grandpa had to lift her into the car to go home!
Thank Heavens for fluffy beds and aspirin!!
