Easter 2011

Catharsis:
According to Webster; a purification or purgation that brings about spiritual renewal or release from tension.

What is your catharsis? Everyone should have one. Mine... being in the mountains. Especially, being in the mountains with my two little granddoggers. And Easter Sunday the weather broke just long enough for the three of us to venture out for a wee hike and leave the remodel chaos behind.

We ventured up Kenny Creek. Daniel, it was one of the trails we went up when you were here in February,2010, only it was snow packed then! It is surprising to me, sometimes, that I now rely on my little Jackie and her incredible senses to warn me of danger while hiking. When I would take Sammy and Megan to the mountains, I usually hiked without a care, knowing that I was safe in Sammy's protection. Granted, there were more times then I can count on one hand, that I would come around a corner in the trail and run smack dab into a HUGE Moose! Usually a MOTHER moose and her young ones! So maybe I was not as secure as I believed! Once, Sammy took off after a male moose and I thought I would never see Sam again! Down one Mountain and up the side of another, and then over the top and - gone. Megan and I stood there in utter shock. Not that Sammy was gone! :-) But how in the heck was I going to tell Ronald that I had lost his dog!? Sammy eventually did come back and he was ever so triumphant!

So now when I am out with Jackie and Gracie, I find myself paying more attention to my surroundings. I feel that these tiny little puppy souls that Kara has entrusted to my care need me to be responsible and need me to look after them properly!

For I realize that what is cathartic to one soul, is not necessarily to another.
