Captain's Log #15

Saturday, September 3 – left Poky around 3:30 after we both got off work.  Arrived at the Cabin late and found, to our delight, that the tent was still up, the bed was still inflated, the loo was still standing and all our stuff was still there.  Amazing!

Sunday, September 4 – woke up to no wind!  With high hopes we started the day by stabilizing the trusses that we had flipped but were unable to put sheathing on.  Then we put the first truss in position and the winds came!  So we switched to plan B and started on wall sheathing on the West side.  Ran out of sheathing materials and so in to Great Falls for more.  Night fall is coming much earlier now and could only work until around 8:00.

And that was Home Depot run #10.

Monday, September 5 – finished as much as we could with the wall sheathing and even put in our front door. Temporarily, of course, but it should help hold out curious critters and snoopers! Attempted flipping a truss and realized that the 2 of us just could not manage truss flipping by ourselves.  Will contact a Cascade contractor and see if we can get some help.  Left for Poky around 3:30.

  1. Hey! You have a front door!! So thankful nobody got hurt putting the roof beams up. That must have been the most difficult part, thus far.
